Longrain is Scott Pickett’s vibrant modern Thai restaurant, housed in an expansive converted horse stable from the 1900s. Our cuisine is a modern take on Thai food, blending traditional Thai recipes with a contemporary twist, incorporating fresh local Australian ingredients and Southeast Asian influences. Inspired by a relaxed, communal eating philosophy, the menu is made up of shared dishes to be enjoyed on communal dining tables – banquet style. Complementing the fresh, punchy signature dishes, Longrain offers an abundance of Thai-inspired cocktails.
Visit us before or after your theatre show, and head upstairs to Longsong from Thursday–Saturday to add a cocktail or two to your experience!

Spice up your Friday afternoons with our $60 lunch banquet! You'll try a selection of Longrain favourites paired with a glass of wine or beer, the perfect segue into the weekend! Best enjoyed with friends or colleagues, so round up your team and join us every Friday from 12pm.

Growing up this was one of our Thai chefs favourite childhood snacks. Its simplicity and portability made it a favourite among children. Fond memories of patiently waiting by the grill watching as their grandmother would work the sticky rice onto a skewer and slowly chargrill over hot coal, brushing and coating it with beaten eggs. Anticipating when it would finally be ready. Coming out fragrant, slightly charred and the rice slightly crispy. Here we are serving it on the side with roasted beef bone marrow, Blackmore’s wagyu beef, roasted rice and larb dressing.

Pre-Theatre bookings
For those wanting a quick bite before a show, look no further! We offer 75 minute a la carte bookings from 5:30pm Monday–Thursday and 5pm Friday–Sunday to make sure you are wined and dined before you hit the theatre! If you're seeing Beauty and the Beast, try the 'Bold and the Beautiful'. Our take on a Turkish delight. Groups of up to 20 are welcomed to dine on our a la carte menu. Please select the 'Pre-theatre Special' option at the time of booking.
Meet the Team: Harry
Harry began his journey as a kitchen porter. After showing interest in food when helping with staff meals a few times, he’s now donned the chef whites and is in training. His curiosity knows no bounds!
Longsong is the penthouse to Longrain; the upper level. Perfect for pre-dinner drinks or for a lighter meal, it sits nicely in that space between a restaurant and a late-night bar. You don’t have to eat – but you’d be missing out. The food is inspired by the flavours of downstairs and designed to pair with drinks. There are DJs spinning vinyl from Thursday–Saturday nights, a Thai-inspired cocktail list, local wines, craft beers on tap – it's a casual place to meet the crew until late into the night — no reservations required but dinner bookings are welcomed.
